Summer Begins

Hunting for an apartment has never been my niche area. Trying to do that in 1 day was in a way more funny than tense because I had no hope to start with. We just drove on the road and stopped by every apartment complex we could see and asked if they had a 1 Bedroom. The 3 month lease seems to be a problem, so we are exploring different ways of concealing that pumpkin while talking to apartments. Its time for the my wife, a Craig's list expert, to do her magic.

Its been almost a decade since I did a train-road-walk commute everyday. I am sure this is going to be much different than those romantic undergrad days.

Summer has begun. Chicago isnt even warm and Superman hasn't even released yet.

Dude,

If you are going to do the train-bus routine to Chicago, check out the International Village in Schaumburg, I remember they used to do 3 month leases about a year back...

And it's a pretty decent place as well, however, like the local joke goes, it's more an "Indian Village" than International village...

If you're interested, it's on Algonquin and Meacham Rd in Schaumburg and is about 5-10 minutes away from a bunch of Metra stations..

i am temporarily put up in intl village now :-)

i asked and they dont do anythin less than 9 month leases.

i've come to intl village in 1999(saw the WC semifinals here) at that time i thought it was a desi village. now i was remarkin to my wife as to how odd it is not to see 1 single desi for 2 days.

tilo,

Have you checked out close to Northwestern U/Evanston? I'm guessing ppl who are out for internships will be subletting.

So, you are interning in Chicago, eh? Check out whether you could sublet any apartment that is rented by Kellogg junta. Check this out for off-campus apartment postings: http://www.northwestern.edu/offcampus/

Evanston is a great place to live. Good luck!
