On Eureka & Displacement

When did Archimedes realize that he was shouting 'Eureka' without any clothes on and what did he do after that? Did people point that to him? Did the person who pointed this out miss the point altogether?

"When did Archimedes realize that he was shouting 'Eureka' without any clothes on"
Good kostin. I think it was until he conveyed his discovery to the king. I heard this somewhere.

"and what did he do after that?"
Uruvufied Rajaguru's veshti (This I made up)

"Did people point that to him?"
Point what? he he ...

"Did the person who pointed this out miss the point altogether?"
I think they must have. It is hard to believe a naked man running down the street just discovered something in the field of fluid dynamics.

Firstly, Archimedes didin't write on this discovery. It was written 200 hundred years later by Vitruvius, so high chances that it's his version of the story.

The exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that hearlds new discoveries, is NOT "Eureka!" but "That's funny..." or even better - "Your project has been funded".
