Hysteria

A fantastic 'run away' type song. Listened to it after a long time. Music in 80s and 90s were much better.

u have just become a father daa, stop sounding like a old fart already :-)...

I do sympathise on the remix culture (gen-y), but there r some good music lately esp by the old groups (viz Greenday, etc) and some new ones...

I think that any kind of music died the day stuff such as N Sync and Pinnadi Theru Pasanga became a hit. After that it was more and more and more synthesizer... I was listening to the FM the other day - there is this new song which goes Boom boom boom - it just made me realize that rock music and music in general is dead and buried deep.

my favs of Def Leppard were 'Let's get rocked' and 'when love & hate collide'.... 80s were the best.. 90s music was bad except for a few...

the decade which saw Metallica's black album has to be the best for rock music...
the 90's saw the best of established bands and the peaking of some relatively new ones (at that time)
Oasis, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Collective Soul, Counting Crows, Smashing Pumpkins, Gn'R, Pearl Jam, Green Day, Offspring, Match Box 20(?) etc. etc. were at their peak in the 90's..
no question about it..

Pour some sugar on me is one of my all time favorite..
The kind of music i loved died when the gentlemen who gave Jazz/Soul/Funk switched over to Rap..
60s saw the rise, 70s hit the peak and by mid 80s it declined..This is because the music videos started overshadowing real music.
I cringe now "seeing" those cheesy 80s music (videos) hits..

babs,

can't even pretend to like the music just to be part of the youth .. its too horrible.

the remix culoture is sad indeed.

LKS,

hip-hop started well but now has deteriorated into 60s style tamil songs.

black accord,

'2 steps behind' was also good.

venkat,

you left out nirvana :-)

Maddy,

don't say anything bad about the 80s :-) I love the 80s hits.
