Bangladesh is an ordinary team

In fact a very mediocre team. I am glad Sehwag bluntly said that. Very impressed with Sehwag. Winning this test match isn't going to change the fact that they are a oothax team. Someone should tell them that their wins are classified as an 'upset' or a 'surprise win' because they only win once in a while. They make headlines during such wins only because the newspapers want to rub more insult on the team that lost to a perennial loser.

Tendulkar does think that they are an ordinary side. he just won't say it aloud. To hell with political correctness.

completely agree :). the press build-up after bangladesh took india's wickets was too much. it doesn't negate in anyway what sehwag stated.

Agreed. But I guess the timing went awfully wrong. If Sehwag had blasted another 200+ in the first day itself he would be hailed like...whatever.. But ippo its like 1000 eggs in his face.. Namba press pathi sollanama pena than perumala eazya akiduvangale...

I agreed to the view that bangaladesh is an ordinary side. And I dont contradict that view..

You can see the word ordinary Indian side used in almost all dailies/portals today...

Let's wait till the game gets over... we will see if the "ordinary" Bangladeshis can become "extraordinary".

Sehwag's press conf was stunning, but i think the press was too quick to comment on the team. Sothhayo superO the press must wait till the end of the match to get back at sehwag.

And, as sachin once said test matches are called that way for a reason .. you need a strategy and ability to out think the opponent !

totally disagree.. when you are the person representing the team and the country, you have to be politically correct.. The Indian team doesn't need to be termed as a cocky, bad mouthing team like the aussies..

The thing with Sehwag is, he tells it like it is. There is no cockiness, hubris, or even an underlying design to "mentally disintegrate" the opposition, like with Aussies. It is honesty, without any filters. And given what a rare quality it is in this PC era, we should be glad for Sehwag.

Another example of what might be seen as cockiness but is him being frank. At the Cricinfo awards ceremony, Bhogle asked him, "Since you reached 283 by stumps, do you think that if you had an extra hour, you could have reached 300?". And Sehwag responds, "Not even an hour. If I had just 3 more overs, I would have gotten 300". No pretend modesty or word mincing.
