Sirutthai

Held back against writing about this movie for a week. But feel the need to get it out of my system.

This movie is probably among the worst movies ever made in Thamizh movie industry. It is not just a 'sumaar' movie. It is not in the category of bad movie. It is not even a 'worstu movie' category. This movie is so bad that people have to conduct research on this movie and find out how bad one can take badness to. It is so bad that it could be used for prisoner torture. It is "I want to kill myself" bad. It is "I want to poke my eyes with a knife and torture myself" bad. I was at one point thinking if this was worse than Bheema or not. It is that bad. It has a ridiculous storyline some rank bad (over)acting by Karthi as 'Rocket Raja'. And it must be said the quality of humor has deteriorated to abysmal levels in this movie. I am astounded that so many people thought this story was worth making a movie out of.

Several people who watched the movie in India warned me never to walk into any theater that played this movie. I should have listened to them. There were about 10 people in the hall where this movie played. And they all looked seriously pissed off as they walked out. In a way I am glad to hear this movie is not doing well. I would hate to think movie watching standards has sunk so low. I am hoping Aadukalam would help wash away the bad taste left by this movie.

Manmadhan Ambu is the worst movie ever made. LOL. Atleast in siruthai the idupu scenes were funny ;-) LOL. Seriosly.. The second half was totally comical. The villains who were so scary in the first half were total buffoons.. Ithanaikum ithu telugu remake pa....

This is probably the first time I disagree with u in this magnitude :-).....I thoroughly enjoyed rocket raja's over acting...and as G said second half comedy made up for some bad telugu masala in between.....the auto scene had me in splits.....Santhanam is surely our next Koundamani in the making......semma kusmbu...80% of the joke made me laugh so hard...

did u leave ur sense of humour back home when u watched it or were u feeling guilty that u left ur family back home :-)

Wow! Thank God I read this review...I was literally nodding my head in agreement as I was reading this review. I warned all my friends NOT to watch this horrible movie. Was like watching an 80s Masala movie
:-)..And although I do like Santhanam he was wasted in this movie.

kali muththiduthu! Santhanam neshtu Goundara??????? His kusumbu is all so copied and made up. He unabashedly apes Goundar adding nothing new.

Shabba!! Now I know why Rakhi Sawanth and Kim Kardashian are millionaires.

PS: I saw the movie at home so it wasn't that bad but I guess I would make a decision like haakai if I'd seen it in a theater.

BTW, worst movie ever?? Bheema? Villu? Kuruvi? Red? Sura? and you say this is the worst movie ever?

G and Babu,

I am surprised that you both liked it as you are the first two that I have met who have had anything good to say about this movie. especially the 'iduppu' scene that G mentions. I thought it was very silly and unfunny.

Babs,

I think Karthi's tone was bad as rocket raja. he uses the high-pitch part of his voice (like the way sathyaraj speaks in his nakkal tone) throughout rocket raja's dialogs. ANd that tone does not suit karthi. it looks artificial and contrived. At least where i watched it..nobody laughed. people were making sama kaduppu comments. and i generally thought the movie and humor was very crass.

santhanam is okay.. i have been his fan since lollu sabha days but the comedy he did here was a repeated of what he did in Boss ENgira Bhaskaran.

Maybe we both liked it, since we saw Karthi as out college mate and not as an actor.. :-)

We were a gang of two dozen people went to see the movie. Damn no one liked it apart from a couple of kunjans and kuluvans in the gang.

If people keep watching these kind of movies saying it is a good entertainer, God only can save Tamil cini industry. It's a total Bulls?it.
