I start my 8th year of blogging. The next 1 year will be my last year of active blogging. I have a few things that I want to write about and I have been postponing writing about it for a variety of reasons. I hope to get those posts out during the next 12 months.
On Friday evening in 2004 June 11th I was passing time until I had to leave for the railway station (to board a train from Bangalore to Madras). I was doing some general web surfing and on some random impulse created a blogger account. Just feels like yesterday.

how you managed to find time to blog with 2 kids (i think) and watch all the movies and keep track of cricket is beyond me...you lost me on some of the carnaatic posts, although more recent tamizh word origination post was good. Like my 9th std teacher said "vallina 'irr'ukku apporam, 'ikk' ezhudade" - words to live by...
If you are planning a eastbound trip to NY area, let me know.

Your Accidental creation became a addictive hangout for most of us. Im sure most of the usual commenters would agree.
Btw: why 9 la stopping? 10 ? and i think you should just continue even if the posts become infrequent. Once in a while its good to come and argue ..

"addictive hangout" - I'll say an emphatic yes to that. A very effective stress buster for me, especially in the middle of a tough work day! It's been so for the past 7yrs for me now and I think its time I thanked you for maintaining such consistently good quality.
Any ideas of making this into a book, now that you plan to retire... there are some hidden gems in here!
